Download the UniCom Skype for Business client

Before configuring your ARCHIVED: Polycom CX600 phone to use Skype for Business for Windows, you or your IT Pro should install the UniCom Skype for Business client on your computer, which can be done any time before your phone number is converted to UniCom.

Configure your Polycom CX600 phone

If you are using Microsoft Windows and have a USB connection from your phone to your computer

  1. On your computer, open the UniCom Skype for Business client.
  2. When the phone asks if you have a computer available for setup, choose Yes.
  3. On your computer, when the UniCom Skype for Business client prompts you for your credentials, enter the following:
    • Username: ads\username (replace username with your IU username)
    • Password: Your IU passphrase

    Your computer will automatically configure your phone for use.

  4. Complete the steps in the Finishing configuration section.

If you do not use Microsoft Windows or do not have a USB connection from your phone to your computer

Note:
You should first set or reset a conference PIN. For help, see ARCHIVED: Set or reset a conference PIN for a Polycom CX600 phone.
  1. If your phone displays "Microsoft Lync Phone Edition", press the OK button (a round button with a dot on it; see the diagram above).
  2. Press the OK button again to accept Select English.
  3. When the phone asks if you have a computer available for setup, select No.
  4. When prompted, enter your 10-digit phone number (for example, 8128554848).

  6. Complete the steps in the Finishing configuration section.

Finishing configuration

  1. When prompted, enter a 6-digit lock PIN twice.
  2. Select a time zone, date, time formats, and a ring tone.
    Note:
    When selecting a time zone, choose Eastern time, not Indiana time.
  3. To ensure correct caller ID, be sure your current office phone number is listed at One.IU.
