At IU, how can I use Identity Finder Endpoint to classify my data?

If you have the Identity Finder Endpoint client installed, you can assign a sensitivity level for Indiana University institutional data (i.e., Critical, Restricted, University-internal, or Public) to the file's metadata. For more about classifications of data, see Data classifications.

To classify a file:

  1. Right-click the file, and select Properties.
  2. Select the Classification tab.
  3. Choose IU Critical, IU Restricted, or IU University Internal, as appropriate.

If you're not certain how to classify the data, see Data classifications or use the Data Storage and Handling (DSH) tool.

If you don't already have Identity Finder installed, see At IU, how do I download and install Identity Finder Endpoint?
