Issue Description Workaround Last updated
Cannot join from Microsoft Teams Room When attempting to join a Zoom meeting from a Microsoft Teams Room, users may encounter an error saying "This meeting is for authorized attendees only". The Zoom meeting's owner should visit My settings - Zoom and disable "Only authenticated users can join meetings from Web client". February 23, 2024
Zoom breakout rooms incompatible with screen readers Screen readers may fail to communicate the "Join" dialog to participants when breakout rooms are launched. In breakout room options, enable Move all participants into breakout rooms automatically. This behavior should be announced via the screen reader. June 1, 2020
Cannot join from a conference unit Non-IU Zoom accounts may not pay for Conference Room Connector (CRC), the feature necessary to connect conference units to Zoom meetings. If this is the case, users connecting from a conference unit will see a Zoom error message. Host the meeting from your IU Zoom account, or join the meeting from a computer or mobile device. If you must join a non-CRC meeting from an IU conference unit, see Connect from an IU conference unit to a third-party Zoom meeting without CRC. February 24, 2020
Problems with autorecord feature The automatic recording setting for a meeting sometimes fails to initiate recording. This problem may be caused when the first person to join the meeting has a outdated Zoom client. If a meeting does not begin recording as it should, manually click the record button. You may wish to encourage attendees to download the most recent Zoom client. If a specific meeting continues to have problems with the autorecord feature, creating a new meeting may resolve the issue. September 6, 2019
When using macOS Mojave, Zoom plugin does not appear in Outlook 2019 or 2016 The current plugin version (4.4.16910.0914) is not compatible with macOS Mojave. For details about upcoming releases and resolved issues, see New Updates for Outlook Plugin . October 2, 2018
Room systems forcibly muted on entry When joining a Zoom meeting whose owner has enabled Mute participants upon entry, participants joining from a room system (such as a Cisco or Polycom unit) may be unable to unmute themselves. The room system's mute controls may appear to function, but audio will not be transmitted. Affected participants should be able to unmute by using Zoom's touch tone menu: press 1 to bring up the menu, and then 2 to unmute. Alternatively, the host or co-hosts can unmute the room system by using the "Manage Participants" menu. August 23, 2018
Crash after sharing screen On some computers, the Zoom client software may crash when you halt a screen share. In the Zoom client settings menu, disable Enable screen sharing with GPU acceleration. If you don't see this option, install the newest version of the Zoom client from https://zoom.us/download. March 20, 2018
Cannot connect to meetings that have encryption enabled Your on-campus videoconference unit (Cisco, Tandberg, etc.) may fail to connect to a Zoom meeting if the owner has End-to-end encryption enabled in the meeting settings. To resolve the issue, restart the videoconference unit, or contact UITS Learning Spaces Support (cthelp@iu.edu, 812-856-2020) for help. September 8, 2017
