The following applies only to traditional phones. If your traditional phone has been replaced by the UniCom service (using Skype for Business and/or a USB or IP phone), see ARCHIVED: UniCom (unified communications).

To make a local call from a campus telephone at Indiana University:

  • To call another campus number, dial the last five digits of the telephone number; for example, for 855-1234, dial 5-1234.

    You can dial between IU Bloomington and IUPUI directly using only the last five digits.

  • To call an off-campus local number, dial 9 and then the full ten-digit telephone number, including the area code.
