Description: The Service Information Framework is an application for managing and publishing information on UITS services and tools. Using a RESTful API, the SIF will make this content available to multiple sites and applications; it is intended to be expansible, and its ongoing development will be informed by these partners, in collaboration with the User Experience Office. In its earliest releases, it will be used by the IT Communication Office to publish information to the uits.iu.edu site.

Outcome: A flexible API to deliver customizable service information to UITS sites and applications, with a highly usable and powerful information management interface for content owners, all drawing from canonical sources of content.

Milestones and status:

  • Sprints 1-3 (September 21-November 2, 2017): Infrastructure, planning, and proofs-of-concept.

Benefits: Trusted, canonical information available to end users; ease of maintenance for managers and service owners; usable information management tools for communication team.
