To transfer a Umail calendar to Google at IU, you'll first export your Umail calendar, and then import it into your Google calendar.

Export your Umail calendar

To export your Umail calendar:

  1. Open a private browsing window.
  2. Go to and click Former students: Log in to Umail. Log in with your IU username and passphrase.
  3. Go to
  4. In the "Export" section, click EXPORT. A ZIP file will download to your computer.
  5. Take the individual ICS files out of the ZIP file so you can import them into your Google at IU calendar.
  6. Proceed to import your Umail calendar.

Import your Umail calendar

To import your Umail calendar:

  1. Go to and click Log in to Google at IU.
  2. Go to
  3. In the "Import" section, click Select file from your computer and select the file you exported. The file should end in .ics or .csv.
  4. Choose which calendar to add the imported events to. By default, events will be imported into your primary calendar.

Repeating events might not be labeled that way if you import them from a .csv file, but they'll be on your calendar as a series of one-time events.
