About Doceri

Doceri is a tablet app with tools for hand-drawn graphics and built-in remote desktop control. To use Doceri, you will need the tablet app from the Apple App Store or Windows Store, and the desktop program installed on a classroom computer.

Note:
Due to licensing constraints, IU cannot provide the desktop program for use on personal computers. If you're an instructor and want to experiment with Doceri at home, you can get a 30-day trial.

Control a classroom computer with Doceri

  1. On the classroom computer:
    1. Open Doceri.
    2. When prompted, choose a simple password for your Doceri session; do not use your IU passphrase.
  2. On your tablet:
    1. Open Doceri and choose through a computer.
    2. Tap the camera icon (Doceri camera icon) in the Doceri app, and take a picture of the QR code that appears on the classroom computer.
    3. When prompted, enter the password you chose when you opened Doceri on the classroom computer in step 1.

You can now use Doceri from your tablet to control or annotate open applications on the classroom computer. You can still use the computer's keyboard, mouse, and other input devices.

Note:
Due to limitations in iOS, Doceri can't control other iPad apps. Only one app at a time can be open and active on the iPad.
