Get started with Microsoft Planner

On this page:

Use Microsoft Planner to create new workflow plans, organize and assign tasks, share files, chat about what you're working on, and receive progress updates from other Indiana University students, faculty, and staff.

If you are eligible to use Office 365 at IU, you are eligible to use this application and its related suite of products.

This application is included in Microsoft Office 365, and you can launch it from the Office 365 app launcher.

For mobile clients, Planner applications are available via the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

Create a plan

To create a plan in the Microsoft Planner app, click Create a Plan. You can use an existing Office 365 Group for plan management, or create a new Group.

For policies, recommendations, and details about group names, see About Microsoft Office 365 groups.

Learn the basics

To learn how to perform common tasks in Microsoft Planner, see the Microsoft Planner home page.

Troubleshooting, help, and feedback

If you have trouble with this application, sign out of Office 365 and completely close your browser or mobile app, and then restart it. You can also switch to a different browser to see if that resolves the issue.
