ARCHIVED: Copy a Umail Google Site to a different Google account (former students only)

1. Log into Google Sites with your Umail account (former students only).
   Notes:

   • Use your IU username followed by @umail.iu.edu.
   • If you typically log into multiple Google accounts with the same browser, UITS recommends that you use an incognito or private browser for this process.
2. Find and open the Google Site you wish to transfer, and click Share.
3. You will see a list of all the individuals who have access to that Google Site. In the "Invite people" field, enter the email address of the Google account which will now own this Google Site.
4. Check the box to Notify people. This step isn't required, but doing so will send email to the newly added account, which could be helpful.
5. From the drop-down menu, select Is owner.
6. To give this account owner access of the Google Site, click Done. This account should now be listed as an owner under "Who has access".
7. Close your current browser session and open a new one; this works best using a new incognito or private browser session.
8. Go to Google Sites and log into the Google account you made the owner of the Site you're going to copy.
9. Find your Google Site listed, and click it.
10. From the More menu, select Manage Site.
11. Select Copy this Site.
12. Select a Site name, a Site location, and choose any preferred settings. Click Copy. You will also need to enter the codes shown on the screen.
13. A copy of your Site will now be hosted outside Umail, at the location of your alternate Google Account.
