Fix Public Folder Calendar is a web-based tool for updating the time zone setting on calendar items in a Public Folder; it adjusts the setting from Indiana (East) to Eastern (US & Canada). To use the tool, you must be logged in as a user with Owner or Editor permissions to the Public Folder you want to change. Follow these steps:

  1. Log into the account management tools page at:
      https://accountmgmt.exchange.iu.edu/tools/
  2. Under "Exchange Tools", click Fix Public Folder Calendar.
  3. Enter the name of a Public Folder calendar (e.g., Departments/BL-UITS/ESST Team Calendar). Click Fix Time Zone.

Note: If the name of the Public Folder calendar contains a forward slash character (/), replace the forward slash with _xF8FF_. For example, for a calendar named "Schedule (East/West)", you would enter Schedule (East_xF8FF_West).

  4. The page that appears will list the relevant calendar items. (If you see only a row of headers and no calendar items, either you are trying to access a Public Folder that is not a calendar, or the calendar does not contain any items that need to be fixed.) The first column lists the type of calendar item (one-time, recurring, or exception; an exception is a single occurrence of a recurring item that is different from the master item). The table will also list the start time and the first 25 characters of the subject. The "Wrong Time Zone" column will have an "X" in it if the item uses Indiana (East); "Wrong Start Time" will have an "X" in it if the item falls during DST (April 2-October 29, 2006). The "Status" column will indicate which items have been updated with the correct time zone and start time.
  5. To manage the load on the servers, the tool will fix only 50 calendar entries at a time. If the calendar has more than 50 items, use your browser's Back button to return to the page where you entered the Public Folder name. Click Fix Time Zone to fix the next batch of 50 or fewer items; repeat until the entire calendar has been fixed.

If an error occurs and an item cannot be updated, you'll see an error code in the "Fixed" column. Try to repeat the steps again to see if the errors clear. If not, note the error number and contact the UITS Support Center for assistance. (See the Knowledge Base document Contact your campus IT Support Center)

Note: It could take up to an hour for the changes to be visible on all Exchange servers.
