Overview

UITS decommissioned the Identity Finder service on February 28, 2019. Along with its edge partners, UITS has begun exploring alternative services and will start a proof of concept during 2019.

See below for instructions for manually removing Spirion Identity Finder from your computer.

Note:
You'll need to log in with administrator privileges to follow the instructions below.

Windows

To remove Spirion Identity Finder from a Windows computer:

  1. Close out of all Microsoft Office products, browsers, and Windows Explorer windows.
  2. Navigate to the Control Panel.
    Note:
    For help navigating, see ARCHIVED: Get around in Windows.
  3. Click either Uninstall a Program or Programs and Features. You'll see a list of all of the programs installed on your computer.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • Right-click Spirion and then click Uninstall.
    • Click Spirion and then, in the menu at the top, click Uninstall.
  5. When asked "Are you sure you want to uninstall Spirion?", click Yes.
  6. When asked "Would you like to remove your user settings?", click Yes. Spirion will uninstall.

Once Spirion has finished uninstalling, you may restart your system or continue working.

macOS

To remove Spirion Identity Finder from a computer running macOS, do one of the following:

  • Drag the Spirion application bundle into the trash.
  • Right-click (or ctrl-click) the application and select Move to Trash.
