IU Health users

If you are located in Riley Hospital, University Hospital, or Radiation Therapy, if you currently have voice mail, and you have a 274 or 278 number and your telephone service is paid for by an IU Health cost center, then you are considered an IU Health voice mail user.

Type of service

The service is phone-only voice mail (no web access) with a message indicator.

Accessing your messages

1. Dial 8-4288 on campus, 317-278-4288 off campus.
2. If the system asks you for your mailbox number, enter all 10 digits of your telephone number (for example, 317-274-3004).
3. Enter your passcode.
4. At the main voice menu, press 1 to access your voice mail messages.
5. Press 1 to listen to new voice mail messages, or press 2 to listen to saved messages. You can save, delete, forward, or replay any of your messages; follow the instructions on the phone menu to carry out these options.

Recording your greeting

1. Log into your voice mailbox.
2. Press 5 to manage your personal options.
3. Press 4 to manage your personal prompts.
4. Press 1 to record your greeting and press 1 again to stop recording.
5. Press 1 to save your greeting or 2 to listen to your greeting.

Recording your name

1. Log into your voice mailbox.
2. Press 5 to manage your personal options.
3. Press 4 to manage your personal prompts.
4. Press 5 to record your name and press 1 to stop the recording.
5. Press 1 to save your name or 2 to review your name.

Forwarding a voice mail message

After listening to the message:

1. Press 2 to forward to an extension.
2. For each mailbox you wish to forward to, enter the 10-digit mailbox number followed by # .
3. When you have finished entering numbers, press # .
4. Press 1 to send now or press 2 to record a comment.
5. Press 3 to send without priority.
