Download and install the software

Note:
At Indiana University, access to Kurzweil 3000 is granted by your campus disability services office. Contact the disability services office on your campus for information about arranging a course accommodation for your needs.

Following are instructions for installing Kurzweil 3000 Web License version for Windows. Before beginning installation, make sure any existing version of Kurzweil has been uninstalled from your workstation.

  1. Go to Kurzweil 3000 Windows Downloads, select Version 20 (subscription/web license), and then save the file to your workstation.
    Note:
    The .exe file is large and may take between 30 minutes to an hour to download.
  2. When the download is complete, find the .exe file in your Downloads folder, and then double-click it to begin installation.
  3. If a "User Account Control" window appears, asking whether you want to let the installer run, click Run.
  4. The installer will extract all the files it needs to continue. When prompted, select Install Web Licensing Software.
  5. When the installation is complete, you will be prompted to restart your workstation. Select Yes to continue. When your workstation restarts, you will see the Kurzweil 3000 shortcut on your desktop.

Sign into Kurzweil 3000

When you launch Kurzweil 3000 Web License version, you will be prompted to enter your Kurzweil 3000 username and password. Use the username and password provided to you by your administrator.
