Add the extension

Note:
At Indiana University, access to Kurzweil 3000 is granted by your campus disability services office. Contact the disability services office on your campus for information about arranging a course accommodation for your needs.

The Kurzweil 3000 Read The Web extension for Chrome allows you to have web content read aloud to you in your choice of 30 different text-to-speech voices. Following are instructions for adding the Kurzweil 3000 Read The Web extension to Chrome:

  1. If Chrome is not already installed on your workstation, download it from the Chrome website, and then install it on your workstation.
  2. Open Chrome, and then go to the Chrome web store.
  3. In the Search the store field, enter kurzweil 3000, and then press Enter or Return.
  4. For the Read The Web extension, select Add to Chrome.
  5. When prompted for confirmation, select Add extension.

With the Read The Web extension added to Chrome, you will find the Kurzweil 3000 icon to the right of the Chrome search bar. To use the extension, navigate to the web page of your choice, and then select the Kurzweil 3000 icon.

Sign into Kurzweil 3000

When you launch the Read The Web extension, you will be prompted to enter your Kurzweil 3000 username and password. Use the username and password provided to you by your administrator.
