What is XSEDE policy on keeping classified information in persistent storage?

In general, you may not use Extreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE) digital services for storing regulated data or classified information, including protected health information (PHI) regulated by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).

To obtain an exception to this policy, you must establish a written memorandum of understanding with the service provider that hosts the storage system you plan to use. To initiate the process, contact the XSEDE Help Desk.
