Note:
To gain full Internet access for your device on the IU network, you
need to register the device's MAC address. Before doing so, your device will not receive an IP address
that allows a successful Internet connection.
Note: Use these instructions to configure Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) to connect to the IU Secure SSID with AirPort Extreme. For Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard), see Connect to the IU wireless network in macOS.
- From the AirPort menu, select .
- With the
Internet Connect
window open, from the menu, choose . If this menu item is grayed out, proceed to the next step. - In the resulting window, click the button (the orange padlock).
- From the menu next to "Configuration:", select .
- In the
Configuration
window, in the "Description:" field, enterWPA: IU Secure
. - In the "User Name:" field, enter your IU Network ID username. Leave the "Password:" field blank.
- In the "Wireless Network:" field, enter
IU Secure
. - In the list to the right of "Authentication:", uncheck
Note: Do not configure PEAP with an outer identity.
and , leaving only

- Click
Configuration
sheet, and then quit Internet Connect. to exit the - From the AirPort menu, select .
- When you first connect to the IU Secure SSID, you will be prompted
to accept the server's certificate. Click
- The certificate is signed by "Thawte Premium Server CA" or "thawte Primary Root CA".
- The certificate name is
net-auth-1.noc.iu.edu

- Check , and click
- You should now be connected to the IU Secure SSID; if you are prompted for your credentials again, enter your IU Network ID.
