To use the phpMyAdmin web interface to administer your MySQL database on Indiana University's Research Database Complex (RDC):
- In your web browser, access the phpMyAdmin interface.
- On the Central Authentication Service (CAS) page, log
in with your Network ID username and passphrase.
You'll land on the phpMyAdmin login screen.
- In the "Username" field, enter
root
. - In the "Password" field, enter your MySQL database password.
- From the "Server Choice" drop-down list, select the server name
and port number matching the information you received in your MySQL
database welcome letter.
The choices will be similar to
, in whichXXXX
is a four-digit port number.If you have lost your port number information, email High Performance Systems for help.
After logging in, you can create a new database, view information about existing databases, and access online phpMyAdmin documentation, the phpMyAdmin wiki, and the phpMyAdmin home page.
