Installing the ERDAS IMAGINE 2010 application

  1. Uninstall any ERDAS IMAGINE service pack or fix.
  2. Uninstall any previous versions of IMAGINE before installing IMAGINE 2010; see ARCHIVED: In Windows, how do I uninstall programs?
  3. Download ERDAS IMAGINE 2010 from IUware and save it to your computer. Double-click the downloaded *.exe file to begin installation. ERDAS IMAGINE 2010 requires 1.21GB of disk space.

Note: Permission to access this software is given upon purchase of an ERDAS license through UITS; see ARCHIVED: At IU, how do I purchase ERDAS IMAGINE?

  4. In the ERDAS_IMAGINE_2010 window, accept the default destination folder (C:\IUware Online\ERDAS_IMAGINE_2010) or browse to a new folder, and then click Install. This will unpack the ERDAS IMAGINE 2010 compressed archive on your local system.
  5. To launch the ERDAS IMAGINE InstallShield Wizard, open the setup.exe file from the ERDAS_IMAGINE_2010 folder.
  6. To install and configure ERDAS-Net licensing, click Install. When the ERDAS IMAGINE 2010 InstallShield Wizard window appears, click Next to continue.
  7. Accept the license agreement, and then click Next.
  8. Accept the default destination folder for installation and click Next.
  9. By default, all available modules will be installed. To avoid wasted disk space, you can choose to deselect unnecessary modules. Click Next, and then click Install.
  10. When installation is complete, check Launch License Manager to specify licensing information, and then click Finish. The ERDAS-Net License Admin Tool window will appear.
  11. Download and install the ERDAS Desktop 2010 Version 10.1 upgrade from IUware.

Note: If you had a previous version of IMAGINE installed on your machine, you will see a message instructing you to copy the batch and/or the sessionrecovery file from $HOME\.imagine930 to $HOME\.imagine1000. Follow the instructions, and then click OK to close the window. If you are using Windows Vista on the ADS domain, the sessionrecovery file is located at C:\Users\username.ADS\.imagine930.

Continue with the appropriate set of instructions below.
