Completed: September 2, 2011

Description: In summer 2010, the High Performance Systems (HPS) group will replace the current Research Database Complex (RDC), which has been in service since early 2007. The RDC is dedicated to research-related databases and data-intensive applications that require a database.

Both Oracle and MySQL databases are supported on the RDC. The RDC also provides an environment for database-driven web applications with a research focus.

Outcome: The goal of this project is to retire hardware that has reached the end of its lifecycle, and to provide newer, faster replacement hardware for research databases.
