To avoid problems logging into SharePoint at IU using Firefox, configure Firefox for Windows to allow SharePoint's automatic authentication mechanism.

  1. In the Firefox address bar, instead of typing a URL, enter:
      about:config

The configuration interface will open. You may need to agree to a security warning to continue.

  2. Next to "Filter" or "Search", enter uris. In the filter results, double-click network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris.
  3. Copy the following text (be sure to click and drag from the top left to the bottom right to select all of it at once), and then paste it into the Enter string value dialog box:
      https://www.sharepoint.iu.edu,https://my.sharepoint.iu.edu,
      https://exchange.sharepoint.iu.edu

Note: Individual URLs should be separated with commas, but do not put spaces between them.

If you want to add other SharePoint sites to your trusted sites, contact those site owners for their site URLs, and then add them to the string value.

    When you're finished, click OK.

  4. Return to the filter results, double-click network.negotiate-auth.trusted-uris, and then enter the same information from the previous step. Separate URLs with commas and no spaces. Then, click OK.
  5. Close Firefox, and then relaunch it.
