Overview

Important:
Windows 10 Mobile is no longer receiving security updates from Microsoft as of December 10, 2019. Microsoft has ended support for Windows Phone and recommends moving to a supported Android or iOS device. For details, see Windows 10 Mobile End of Support: FAQ.

At Indiana University, if you have configured your device to connect to Exchange, you can use Outlook on the web to wipe your data remotely if your device is lost or stolen; see Manage your Exchange ActiveSync device in Outlook on the web.

Following instructions here will delete all data on your device.

Windows 10 Mobile

  1. From the home screen, open Settings.
  2. Under System, tap About.
  3. Select Reset your phone.

Windows Phone 8 or 7

  1. From the home screen, swipe to the left (or tap the arrow on the right).
  2. Scroll down and tap Settings > About.
  3. Select Reset your phone.

Windows Mobile 6.5

  1. From the home screen, tap Start.
  2. Tap Settings > All Settings > System Tab.
  3. Select Clear Storage.

Windows Mobile 6.1 or 6

  1. From the home screen, tap Start > Settings > System Tab.
  2. Select Clear Storage.
  3. Type 1234, and then tap Yes.
