KnowledgeLake is an add-on module to Indiana University's enterprise-wide Microsoft SharePoint service. It provides users with:

  • A platform-based solution for managing unstructured content within SharePoint
  • An enterprise-scalable and comprehensive SharePoint document management solution for searching, viewing, securing, routing, and annotating electronic content
  • A comprehensive solution for managing the capture of enterprise content and knowledge assets using the Microsoft SharePoint platform
  • Direct integration with users' desktops for the capture and standardization of electronic content from Microsoft applications

For more, see the KnowledgeLake website.

KnowledgeLake and SharePoint are core technologies being used by the UITS Electronic Document Storage (EDS) service. Currently, the centrally managed production environment is licensed for use only by UITS, the Office of the Vice President for Information Technology (OVPIT) and its supported partners, and the College of Arts and Sciences (BL).
