Globus Online is a fast, reliable, and secure file transfer service for easily moving data to, from, and between digital resources on the Extreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE).

A simple web interface lets users specify the source and destination endpoints, and the files to move. Once you initiate a transfer, Globus Online monitors performances, retries failed transfers, corrects problems where possible, and provides status reports.

For a system overview, XSEDE use cases, and file transfer basics, including information about adding non-XSEDE endpoints, see Globus Online File Transfer User Guide in the XSEDE User Portal.

To sign up to use Globus Online, visit the Globus Online home page, and click the Sign Up tab in the upper right corner. After submitting your information, you will be automatically signed into the Globus Online service. You also will receive a request to validate your email address; once you validate your email address, you will receive a welcome message in email with pointers to useful information.

Note: To set up a Globus endpoint on your XSEDE-Compatible Basic Cluster (XCBC), see the instructions in Installing Globus Connect Server for installing the Globus Connect Server repository and configuring the server.
