This content has been archived, and is no longer maintained by Indiana University. Information here may no longer be accurate, and links may no longer be available or reliable.

If you are installing Google Custom Search (GCS) into your university-affiliated website, you may want to disable ads in your search:

  1. Log into GCS and then, next to your Custom Search Engine's (CSE) name, select Control panel.
  2. From the Control Panel, select the search engine you want to change.
  3. On the Ads tab, toggle the "Show Ads" option to off.

Check your CSE on your website to verify that ads are not appearing with your search results.

Nonprofits and schools may use Custom Search Engine on their website for free without advertising. To register as a nonprofit or school, go to Custom Search Help.
