At IU, how do I add or remove forwarding for my Umail account?

On this page:

Adding forwarding

  1. Log into Umail.
  2. Click the gear icon in the top right corner of the page, and then select Settings.
  3. Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
  4. Next to Forwarding:, click Add a forwarding address. Enter the email address to which you would like your mail forwarded, and click Next. A confirmation code will be sent to that email address. Click OK.
    Note:
Any mail sent to username@exchange.campus.edu (for example, jdoe@exchange.iupui.edu) from a system outside IU will be rejected, generating a bounce message to the sending system. Be sure your mail is sent to username@iu.edu.
  5. Log into the email address to which you are setting forwarding. Open the message from the Indiana University Team, and click the provided link to confirm forwarding.
  6. Return to Umail and click the gear icon; then click Settings, and then Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
  7. Select the radio button next to Forward a copy of incoming mail to, and from the drop-down box, select the email address to which you would like to forward your mail. From the next drop-down box, select whichever setting you prefer.
  8. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page to complete the process.
