ARCHIVED: Using Lessons (beta), how do I import material from one site to another?
If you have an existing Oncourse site that contains Lessons pages with linked assignments, assessments, or forum topics, after importing items into a new site, you may need to take several additional steps for those links to work properly, depending on which browser you're using.
To import from sites that have graded items and are linked through Lessons (beta):
- Verify all needed tools are present in the new site.
- In the new site, click , and then select .
- Click
- Select the site from which you want to import material, and then click .
- Choose

and any other items you wish to import. Click .
In addition, take the following steps as appropriate, depending on the browser you are using:
- Firefox 24: For links to assessments to work in Lessons, publish the assessments in Tests & Surveys in the new site. Links to assignments and forum topics will work properly without any additional action when imported into Lessons.
- Internet Explorer 10 and 11: If you have imported links to assignments from Assignments into Lessons, do the following to make
sure the links function properly in Lessons:
- From the menubar, click
This item was copied from another site. It won't work until you do "Edit" and "Change Assignment" to pick an assignment that is valid in this site.

- Next to the assignment you imported, click .
- In the pop-up window, click .
- Select the assignment for that link.
- Click .
Note:UITS strongly recommends that you use a supported browser, and not Internet Explorer (IE). Microsoft 365 apps and services no longer support Internet Explorer.Note: For links to assessments to work in Lessons, publish the assessments in Tests & Surveys in the new site. - Firefox 23 for Mac: Follow the instructions for Internet Explorer 10/11 above.
