UITS Service Overview: Unified Device Management (SCCM)

Service name: Unified Device Management

Role: Antivirus, software distribution and patching, operating system deployment, system inventory

Description:

The Unified Device Management service provides a unified framework that allows system management and inventory, centralized antivirus, patching, software distribution, and reporting for schools and departments across all IU campuses in direct support of university policies, asset management requirements, and compliance reporting.

Cost: Free of charge

Adoption process: Submit a request for ConfigMgr service to sct2@iu.edu, including your department name, campus, and primary contact for the service request. Tier 2 will forward your request to the ConfigMgr team.

Meets UIPO/UISO guidelines: SCCM Administrators are actively working with UISO regarding infrastructure. Client is responsible for meeting UIPO/UISO guidelines on client devices.
