ARCHIVED: How can I move Oncourse Resources to Canvas?

This content has been archived, and is no longer maintained by Indiana University. Information here may no longer be accurate, and links may no longer be available or reliable.
Important:
Oncourse is retired. For details, see ARCHIVED: About the Oncourse retirement.

To move files stored in Oncourse Resources to Canvas, export them to a ZIP file and then import the ZIP file into the Canvas Files tool, as described below.

The Canvas Files tool only supports files that can be stored and opened on your computer. You can't use it to open or edit the special resource types available in Oncourse Resources (e.g., citation lists, forms, web links, etc). UITS recommends removing these other types of assets before you export your files from Oncourse or after you import them into Canvas.

Note:
Storage in Canvas is intended only for purposes directly related to course and group work. For general-purpose storage needs, refer to Options for storing files at IU.

See also File storage in Canvas.
