Description: During spring 2015, UITS will deploy Duo Security as a replacement for the current OTP token service.

Duo Security, part of the InCommon Multifactor Authentication, will be available to all members of the IU community. Duo provides a software-as-a-service offering that allows users to use a portfolio of options for authentication: Duo Push on all major smart devices, hardware tokens similar to the current OTP token, text messages to a cell phone, or a voice phone call to their office. This flexibility allows users and applications to choose the best authentication mechanism for their needs.

Outcome: UITS will deploy Duo to replace the current OTP tokens.

Milestones and status: For the majority of OTP token users, the transition will happen during the spring 2015 semester.
