Using Skype for Business or Lync 2013 Mobile, how do I sign into UniCom?

You can access Indiana University's UniCom service on mobile devices using the appropriate app for your device; see At IU, what mobile clients can I use with UniCom?

After downloading the appropriate client to your device, open the application. The first time you run the mobile client, you will need to configure your account information. Follow the appropriate instructions below.

On this page:


iPhone and iPad

  1. For "Sign-in address", type your sign-in address, which is usually the same as your email address; see For UniCom, what is my sign-in address?
  2. For "Password", type your IU passphrase (but do not press return).
  3. Tap Show Advanced Options.
  4. For "User name", type ads\username, replacing username with your IU username.
  5. Be sure "Auto-detect server" is set to On.
  6. At the bottom of the screen, tap Sign in.
  7. On an iPhone, you will see the following message: "We need your iPhone number with country and region codes." Confirm that your mobile phone number is being displayed (e.g., +18125555555), and then tap Next.
  8. Tap Done.
    Note:
    To change your mobile phone number settings, tap My Info (the last button in the list of menu buttons), then Options, and then Phone Number. If you prefer not to have incoming calls to your work number simultaneously ring to your mobile phone, tap My Info, and then tap Call Forwarding to change your settings.

Android

  1. Tap Accept to accept the terms of use.
  2. For "Sign-in address", type your sign-in address, which is usually the same as your email address; see For UniCom, what is my sign-in address?
  3. For "Password", type your IU passphrase (but do not press return).
  4. Tap Show Advanced Options.
  5. For "User name", type ads\username, replacing username with your IU username.
  6. Be sure "Auto-detect server" is set to On.
  7. At the bottom of the screen, tap Sign in.
  8. You will see the following message: "We need your phone number with country and region codes." Confirm that your mobile phone number is being displayed (e.g., +18125555555), and then tap Continue.
  9. Tap Continue again to finish.
    Note:
    To change your mobile phone number settings, tap the button at the top-right, then Options, and then Calls and meetings. If you prefer not to have incoming calls to your work number simultaneously ring to your mobile phone, tap My Info, and then tap Call Forwarding to change your settings.

Windows Phone

  1. Tap I agree to accept the terms of use.
  2. For "Sign-in address", type your sign-in address, which is usually the same as your email address; see For UniCom, what is my sign-in address?
  3. For "Password", type in your IU passphrase. To avoid having to retype your passphrase each time you use the mobile client, check Save My Password.
  4. Tap Show Advanced Options.
  5. For "User name", type ads\username, replacing username with your IU username.
  6. Be sure "Auto-detect server" is set to On.
  7. Tap the check button at the bottom of the screen.
  8. You will see the following message: "We need your phone number with country and region codes." Confirm that your mobile phone number is being displayed (e.g., +18125555555), and then tap the arrow at the bottom to continue.
  9. Tap the arrow button again to finish.
    Note:
    To change your mobile phone number settings, tap the button at the bottom-right, then Settings, and then Mobile Number. If you prefer not to have incoming calls to your work number simultaneously ring to your mobile phone, tap your profile icon on the main screen to change call forwarding options.
