ARCHIVED: Present content from your computer using the Pexip Web App in Chrome or Firefox
UITS Collaboration Technologies retired the "23" video bridge (Pexip) on December 23, 2019. This includes all conferences that begin with the prefix 23- as well as the bridge.iu.edu and uits.iu.edu/bridge sites. Zoom has replaced the Pexip videoconferencing service; for more about moving your virtual meetings to Zoom, see Get started with Zoom.
While it is not possible to migrate a 23- conference number to the Zoom service, you can customize your Zoom Personal Meeting ID; for more, see What is Personal Meeting ID (PMI) and Personal Link?When you join an IU Video Bridge conference using the Pexip Web App, you have two options for presenting computer content:
- Sharing your entire screen (Google Chrome or Firefox) or an application window (Chrome only)
- Uploading a PDF or an image file (that is, JPG, BMP, PNG) directly to the conference presentation window

Download and install the Pexip Screensharing Extension (Chrome only)
Before sharing your screen for the first time, you must add the free Pexip Screensharing Extension to Chrome:
- Using Chrome, go to Pexip Screensharing Extension.
- At the upper right, click to download.
- Click .
You are now ready to share your screen.
Share content from your computer
Share your screen in Chrome
To share your entire screen or a specific application window in Chrome:
- Follow the steps to connect to a conference as described in ARCHIVED: About the Pexip Web App.
Note:You can present your computer screen from Chrome without also activating your computer's webcam and microphone. This is useful when you've already joined the conference from a room system or a telephone, but still want to present your computer screen. When joining the conference, from the drop-down menu next to, select the third option (no camera/no voice), and then click .
- In the toolbar at the bottom of the screen, click the image of a screen to start presenting.
- If this is your first time presenting, you'll be prompted to allow https://bridge.iu.edu to use the Pexip Screensharing Extension. Click .
- Select either the entire screen or a specific application window to share, and then click .
If the screen you are sharing in Chrome contains a lot of movement, participants viewing your presentation can click
in their toolbars to receive the presentation at a faster frame rate.Share your screen in Firefox
To share your screen in Firefox:
- Follow the steps to connect to a conference as described in ARCHIVED: About the Pexip Web App.
Note:You can present your computer screen from Firefox without also activating your computer's webcam and microphone. This is useful when you've already joined the conference from a room system or a telephone, but still want to present your computer screen. When joining the conference, from the drop-down menu next to, select the third option (no camera/no voice), and then click .
- In the toolbar at the bottom of the screen, click the image of a screen to start presenting.
- Under the address bar, you'll see a prompt to select which screen to share. Use the drop-down menu to select , and then select (Windows) or (Mac).
Share an image or PDF
To share an image or PDF in Chrome or Firefox:
- Follow the steps to connect to a conference as described in ARCHIVED: About the Pexip Web App.
- In the toolbar at the bottom of the screen, click .
- Drag PDF files and/or image files in JPG, BMP, or PNG format to the "Share Slides" window, and then click .
- Use the left ( ) and right ( ) controls at the top of the screen to scroll through the slides.
- To stop the presentation, in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen, click Notes:
- Microsoft PowerPoint (
.ppt
or.pptx
) file formats are not supported. Use PowerPoint's command to save a copy of your presentation in PDF format before uploading it to the "Share slides" window. - Uploaded files are immediately removed from the conference server when the participant who uploaded them disconnects from the conference.
