Overview

Multifunction Ricoh printers have options not previously available on single devices, including:

  • Color or B&W
  • Printing in simplex (single-sided) or duplex (double-sided)
  • Standard (8.5"x11") and tabloid (11"x17") paper sizes
  • Card-swipe access via your CrimsonCard

The queue selected (ending in "bw" or "color") determines the per-page rate for the output, regardless of the color content of the page.

Authenticate

There is no print release station or login process; you need only your CrimsonCard.

On the left is a touch screen. On the right, about waist high, is a card reader. Quickly slide your CrimsonCard face-up through the card reader.

If you do not have your CrimsonCard with you, you can still sign into the printer using the touch screen. To log in, tap the screen and enter your IU username and passphrase.

Print

To print documents:

  1. Swipe your CrimsonCard.
  2. The touch screen will display a list of print jobs you sent to the printer. Next to each print job is a check box. At the bottom are three boxes labeled Print (grayed out), Print All, and Delete (grayed out). Do one of the following:
    • To print all jobs, touch Print All.
    • To select jobs to print or delete, touch the boxes to the left of the jobs; the number of pages associated with each job will display. Touch Print or Delete.

Copy

To make a copy of a document:

  1. Place your document, face up, on the upper tray of the printer.
  2. Swipe your CrimsonCard.
  3. To the left of the touch screen, press the Copy button.
  4. The touch screen will show several copy options (the default for copies is B&W):
    • Select Full Color if you want a color copy of your document.
    • Select desired copy formats (optional).
    • Select the number of copies.
  5. To the right of the touch screen, press the Start button.

Scan and email documents

Note:
You may only send your scanned document to an IU email address. Email addresses outside of IU are not accessible.

The default file type for scanned documents is PDF. To scan and email a document:

  1. Place the document(s) to be scanned in the top tray of the printer.
  2. Swipe your CrimsonCard.
  3. To the left of the touch screen, press the Scanner button. The scanner page will default to "E-mail" and the "To" field will be highlighted.
  4. Touch Manual Entry to display the on-screen keyboard. In the "To" field, enter your primary IU email address (usually similar to username@indiana.edu or username@iupui.edu). If desired, fill in the "Cc" and "Bcc" fields with valid IU email addresses.
  5. Select Text and Subject if you wish.
  6. To scan and email your documents, press the Start button and then the # key to complete the process.
