ARCHIVED: Troubleshooting Unizin Engage (IU eTexts)
If you have difficulty accessing your IU eTexts titles on the Unizin Engage reading platform (formerly Courseload Engage), try the following:
- Use only Firefox or Chrome.
- Clear your browser cache.
- Enable cookies.
- Verify you have Internet access.
- Look for other tabs and windows in your screen.
- Be sure you haven't set a bookmark or shortcut outside of the class site.
- Check IT Notices for an outage notice; see Access IT Notices at IU
If none of the above address your trouble:
For help with IU eTexts, contact your campus Support Center.
Faculty-specific issues
- Make sure you (or an IU eTexts Coordinator, on your behalf) adopted an IU eTexts title to this specific course/class, in this term, and on this campus; if so, you should have a confirmation email message. See ARCHIVED: Adopt IU eTexts as an IU faculty member, ARCHIVED: Adopt IU eTexts as an IU eTexts Coordinator, or ARCHIVED: Track an IU eTexts eDoc.
- Verify that your title has been loaded to your class site; you should have email notification.
- In Canvas, verify that you've ARCHIVED: enabled the IU eTexts (Unizin Engage) link, and that you haven't inadvertently deleted or hidden it.
-
When cross-listing courses using IU eTexts, all sections need to have identical eText orders. If the eText order for a selected section does not match the order for the primary section in Canvas, the selected section will not be cross-listed, and an error message will display.
- If you added a new class of the course after you submitted the original adoption request(s), be sure to adopt the title to the additional class. See ARCHIVED: Adopt IU eTexts as an IU faculty member or ARCHIVED: Adopt IU eTexts as an IU eTexts Coordinator.
If none of the above address your trouble, or if you need assistance solving one of the problems listed above:
