ARCHIVED: Indiana's Private Cloud secure delete process

Indiana's Private Cloud relies on VMware vSphere for virtual disk provisioning, preventing stale data remaining on the physical disk after a VM has been deleted from being read from the physical device by any new VM. Storage not previously read or written by the new VM is zeroed out to ensure that any "dirty" blocks cannot be read by the new VM created on the same previously used physical disk space. For more about the virtual disk provisioning, see VMware's vSphere 5.5 Documentation Center.
