Overview

Texthelp Read&Write will be retired on August 6, 2024. Read&Write is an application currently offered to Indiana University students, faculty, and staff without fee. It provides reading assistance, annotates textbooks and handouts, and assists with writing papers and assignments.

Indiana University provides several applications with many of the same features found in Read&Write. For more on those applications, see below.

Textbooks

If you have trouble reading physical textbooks or prefer to have your books read aloud, see the following list of available applications:

  • Engage: Available only through courses that use IU eTexts
  • BryteWave: Available through the IU Bookstore when you purchase digital versions of required textbooks
  • Thorium: Available through IUware for use with non-DRM protected titles, or for use with titles provided through an accommodation approved by Accessible Educational Services (AES)
