Your power management settings control when your screen goes blank or your computer goes to sleep automatically. To change power management settings in Windows 7, Vista, or XP:

Windows 7 and Vista
- From the menu, select . Then choose .
- From the list in the left pane, click or .
- Set your options. For each action, "Turn off the display:" and "Put the computer to sleep:", you can select times ranging from to .

Windows XP

- Double-click or .
- From the drop-down menu next to "Turn off monitor:", select a time from to . You may also have options for "Turn off hard disks:" ( to ) and "System standby:" ( to ).
