ARCHIVED: Oncourse Messages: Overview
What it does
The Messages tool is an internal course mail system for messaging between individuals and groups.
Key concepts
Viewing messages: Unread messages are in bold; viewed messages are marked as read, but you can mark any read message as unread. By default, messages are listed chronologically, but you can select the
view to display messages in indented threads.Composing messages: A rich-text interface allows rich text, plain text, and HTML editing. See ARCHIVED: The rich-text editor. You can also add attachments.
Note: Pasting text into the rich-text editor should preserve most formatting, but some types of formatting may need to be added manually in the editor after pasting. You can also use the ARCHIVED: Pasting from Microsoft Word. icon to paste from a Microsoft Word document, although this may not preserve every type of formatting. For details, see
Message priority: You can set priority levels for messages to distinguish important messages from others.
