Using Lync at IU, how can I block my number from caller ID?

Use Microsoft Lync to access Indiana University's UniCom service.

Note: For Mac users, UITS recommends Lync for Mac to connect to UniCom at Indiana University. Communicator for Mac and Messenger for Mac are not supported.

At Indiana University, when dialing a phone call using the Lync UniCom client or a USB or IP phone with UniCom Enterprise Voice, you can make a call without exposing your phone number to the other party's caller ID by dialing *67 before the 10-digit number. The caller ID of the other party will then display your number as (000) 555-0100.

Note: When using *67, you must dial the 10-digit number for all calls, including on-campus calls that you might ordinarily be able to dial with fewer digits.

If you want to block your number from caller ID for all calls you make, email Communications Convergence.

For an introduction to UniCom, including how-to PDFs and videos, see UniCom.
