ARCHIVED: At IU, what is the UITS Communications Office?

The Communications Office promotes and reports on the Indiana University Information Technology (IT) environment for the IU community and for local, national, and international audiences in education, research, government, business, and industry.

Focusing on user information, public relations, planning, and events, the Communications Office:

  • Informs IU students, faculty, and staff of news about IT services, resources, and tools

  • Develops and implements integrated communications plans and campaigns for new IT initiatives and services, aimed at increasing public awareness of IT services and technologies and their benefits

  • Publishes information about IT at IU in various media and formats, including print, the web, CD, video, and audio

  • Plans and executes IT-related conferences, events, and information displays

  • Serves as liaison with the media for University Information Technology Services (UITS), the Office of the Vice President for Information Technology (OVPIT), and the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR).

  • Have an idea for an article or announcement

  • Wish to report an error you found in a UITS publication

  • Need a name added to or deleted from the UITS subscription lists

  • Wish to report a bad link on a UITS or OVPIT web page
