In Windows, how do I transfer a web page to my account on Steel?
Note: On June 30, 2008, UITS will retire Steel and move the Mypage service to a new platform. For more, see About the Mypage migration.
If your Windows computer is connected to the Internet, you can use secure FTP (SFTP) to transfer files from your computer to your account on Steel. For more information, see What is SFTP, and how do I use it?
If you have not yet published a web page on Steel, see At IU, how can I publish personal pages on Mypage?

If you use an HTML editor (e.g., Netscape Composer, Dreamweaver, or Microsoft FrontPage) with a built-in FTP client, you will probably not be able to use the built-in FTP client because it doesn't use SFTP. For directions on how to transfer web files created with one of these editors, see At IU, using FrontPage, Dreamweaver, or Netscape Composer, how do I publish my web pages on Mypage or Webserve?
