ARCHIVED: In Microsoft Word, how can I change the paper orientation for individual pages of one document?
In Microsoft Word, you can apply different page orientations to individual pages in a single document. To do so, follow the appropriate instructions below for changing the page setup.
Microsoft Word 2010 and 2007 for Windows
- Place the cursor at the beginning of the desired page. To start a
new page, from the
Inserttab, selectPage Break.
- In the
Page Layouttab, from theMarginsdrop-down menu, selectCustom Margins....
- In the
Page Setupwindow, click theMarginstab. Under "Orientation", change the page orientation to the desired setting (PortraitorLandscape).
- Under "Preview", from the drop-down menu next to "Apply to:",
select
This Point Forward, and then clickOK.
This will change the orientation on the current page and all
subsequent pages. To change the orientation again, move the
cursor to the beginning of the next page and follow the steps above,
making sure that in the "Apply to:" field, This Point Forward
is selected.
Microsoft Word 2011 and 2008 for Mac OS X
- Place the cursor at the beginning of the desired page. To start a
new page, from the
Insertmenu, selectBreak, and then choosePage Break.
- From the
Filemenu, selectPage Setup....
- If prompted, select an orientation (
PortraitorLandscape) for your page. (Depending on the printer driver you are using, the appearance of thePage Setupwindow will vary.)
- From the pull-down menu next to "Settings:", select
Microsoft Word.
- Next to "Apply Page Setup settings to:", choose
This point forward, and then clickOK.
This will change the orientation on the current page and all
subsequent pages. To change the orientation again, move the
cursor to the beginning of the next page and follow the steps above,
making sure that in the "Apply Page Setup settings to:" setting,
This point forward is selected.
