At IU, what is an Authorization Code, and how do I get one?
At Indiana University, your Authorization Code (for faculty and staff members) allows you to make long distance calls from campus telephones. If you are a faculty or staff member and do not have an Authorization Code, contact your Telecommunications Coordinator for assistance.
If you do not know who your Coordinator is, complete this online
form. Select faculty or staff, and click
Continue. Click No, and then Continue
again. From the menu for the service you're interested in, select the
name of your department. Your Coordinator's contact information will
then appear.
Note: Direct-dial long distance is not available in campus housing at IUB and IUPUI. However, IU has partnered with MobileSphere to provide residential long distance and international calling. For more, see At IU, how can I make long distance telephone calls? Also, students, faculty, and staff may take advantage of special pricing for AT&T personal cellular service; see Details about IU's agreement with AT&T for personal discounted rates.
