At IU, how can students or applicants review or change personal information?
If you are an Indiana University student or applicant, you can review or change your personal information through the Student Center in OneStart:

Log into OneStart. The
"Student Center" area should be visible; if it is not, select the
Servicestab, and choose theStudent Self-Servicesection on the left.Click
Go to Student Center.Note: The Student Center and other Self-Service applications use pop-up pages and subpages. If your Internet pop-up blocker is set to block all pop-ups, you'll need to turn it off or change the setting to allow them; see How do I enable or disable pop-ups in web browsers? For further assistance, contact your local Support Center.
- From the Student Center, under "Personal Information", you have
the following options:
- Demographic Data: This will display your official information (e.g., birthdate, ID number, citizenship).

Names: This will display your primary name (your
official name with the university), your preferred name (the name you
prefer the university use when communicating with you), and any other
official names you have on file. Click
editto modify your preferred name. -
Student Home or Local (not IU
Housing): These will display the addresses the university
will use to contact you, including home and campus addresses. Click
editto modify any address, and clickAdd A New Addressto provide more contact information. -
Student Home Phone: This will display the phone
numbers the university will use to contact you, including primary,
secondary, and cell phones. Make any necessary changes to the fields,
and then click
Save. -
IU Email: This will display the email addresses
the university will use to contact you, including both your official
IU address and any non-IU email you have registered. Make any
necessary changes to the fields, and then click
Save. -
Parent/Guardian Information: This will display
your Parent/Guardian contact information. IU collects legal parent
and guardian information for general information and for purposes of
communication. If no information is on record, you can add a parent
or guardian contact by clicking
Add a Parent/Guardian.
Note: You cannot modify certain personal information (e.g., your primary name) through the Student Center. If there is an error in this information, or a change is otherwise necessary, contact the following as appropriate:
- Undergraduate applicants: Contact your campus admissions office.
- Graduate or professional applicants: Contact the office to which you applied.
- Enrolled students: Contact your campus registrar's office.
