About logging into the Knowledge Base

Anyone may use the Knowledge Base to search for answers to technical questions. However, some groups at Indiana University have access to restricted content. If you belong to one of these groups (e.g., UITS, OVPIT, TCC), you must log into the Knowledge Base in order to view these pages.

To log in, click Login>> at the upper left of any page and authenticate using your Network ID. To log out, click Logout.

Logging in sets a cookie allowing you access for 24 hours, or until you log out. If your browser is not set to accept cookies automatically, you will need to add kb.iu.edu to the list of exceptions.

If you do not have privileged access to the Knowledge Base, logging in will not allow you to see restricted content.

Note: If you're not already logged in when you try to access an internal document, you'll see a message denying you access. If you then use the main login link at the upper left, you'll arrive at the main KB search page, and will need to click the link or enter the URL to the internal page again. However, if you instead click log in in the text of the message, upon entering your credentials, you'll pass directly to the page you were trying to access. See the image below.
