How do I access IU's MDSS/HPSS from my TeraGrid account?
If you have a TeraGrid account, you should be able to connect to Indiana University's MDSS using a GridFTP client to access the following address: gridftp.mdss.iu.edu
For information on GridFTP clients, visit:
http://www.teragrid.org/userinfo/data/gridftp.phpBefore you can connect to MDSS using your TeraGrid certificate, you need to add it to IU's Big Red system. For instructions on how to prepare your certificate before using GridFTP, see What's the recommended method for everyday access to the TeraGrid?
TeraGrid-only accounts (those that start with "tg-") are mostly limited to the GridFTP protocol. Other methods such as web, Kerberized FTP, Samba, and SFTP all require Kerberos authentication, rather than the GSI authentication that grids use. Kerberos authentication requires an IU Network ID.
