Campus
ESRI offers self-paced, virtual training courses on the web that include technical instruction for ESRI software and GIS concepts. IU's site license with ESRI allows students, faculty, and staff to take many virtual courses for free. ESRI also offers free training seminars on a variety of GIS topics available as live presentations on your computer.

Instructor-Led Training
ESRI offers 40 on-site training courses for software (e.g., ArcGIS, ArcIMS, ArcSDE) in 50 US locations. You can choose basic, intermediate, or advanced level classes by location or topic. IU faculty and staff qualify for a 40% educational discount for on-site training. If you are interested, contact a UITS GIS Support Specialist atuitsgis@indiana.edu.

ERDAS
classes
If you use ERDAS software, these basic, intermediate, and advanced courses are designed to develop skills in extracting information from imagery. ERDAS offers hands-on training at three Customer Education centers in the US. IU students, faculty, and staff are eligible to take a limited number of training days for no cost. Free passes are issued each year on a first come, first served basis. You are responsible for travel expenses. Contact a UITS GIS Support Specialist atuitsgis@indiana.edu.

These affordable GIS training courses for GIS software (e.g., ESRI and Google Earth) are delivered on CD media, with audio PowerPoint presentations and exercises. Presentations include several examples to watch the instructor's computer desktop and see the software in action.
