What file format should I use if I want my video podcast to play on mobile video devices and gaming consoles?

If you want your video podcast to play on mobile video devices and gaming consoles, use the MPEG-4 Part 14 (MP4) format.

The MP4 format is supported on the following devices and most video-enabled phones:

  • iPod Classic
  • iPod Nano
  • iPod touch
  • iPhone
  • iPad
  • Apple TV
  • Microsoft Zune
  • Microsoft Xbox 360
  • Creative Zen
  • Sony PlayStation Portable
  • Sony PlayStation 3
