How do I install the Citrix Receiver for IUanyWare?
Note: These instructions address the most straightforward configuration necessary for you to access IUanyWare from your Windows or Mac computer using your web browser; for smartphone and tablet instructions, see How do I set up and run IUanyWare applications on my mobile device?
IUanyWare will automatically download and install the latest Citrix Receiver supported by the IU implementation of IUanyWare. Using any other version of the Citrix Receiver with a Windows or Mac computer is not supported at this time.
- For Windows, you should be running Windows XP SP 3 or later, and
for Mac OS, Mac OS X 10.6 or later.
Important: As of April 8, 2014, Microsoft no longer supports Windows XP with security updates. To ensure the highest security standards, the UITS Support Center no longer registers Windows XP devices to the IU network. UITS strongly recommends that you look into the options for replacing or upgrading your Windows XP computers for full compatibility with IU systems. See About end of life for Windows XP.
- While the Citrix receiver is designed to work with a wide variety of browsers, each browser has unique features which can affect the installation. For the simplest process, use Internet Explorer (Windows) or Safari (Mac OS X) when installing the default Citrix Receiver. Once the installation is complete, you can access IUanyWare from most popular browsers.
- In your browser, go to:
Log in with your IU username and passphrase. The first time you visit the site, you'll see a box that reads "Click Install to access your applications."
- If there is a checkbox for

You must have administrative privileges to install the Citrix Receiver on your computer. If you receive the message "'Install Citrix Receiver.pkg' cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer", STOP. Your version of Mac OS X does not recognize this version of the Citrix Receiver. You will need to install Citrix Receiver 11.8 from IUware.
- Windows users: The Citrix client installer will prompt you to
- If a box reading "Confirm installation is complete" appears, click

Windows users: Once you have installed the Citrix Receiver from IUanyWare, you will be able to access IUanyWare through your browser at any time, 24/7. However, UITS recommends that you instead use the Citrix StoreFront common to most Citrix Receivers. The Citrix StoreFront is also the recommended alternative to the Citrix Enterprise Receiver. For more, see In IUanyWare, what is the Citrix StoreFront, and how do I use it in Windows?
