ARCHIVED: How do I decode a file with a .sit or .sitx extension?

This content has been archived, and is no longer maintained by Indiana University. Information here may no longer be accurate, and links may no longer be available or reliable.

A file with the .sit or .sitx extension is an archive compressed in the StuffIt format. For Mac OS X and Windows, use StuffIt Expander to decompress the file.

Note: Because this format has been revised several times, older copies of StuffIt Expander may not be able to open files compressed with newer versions.
