Many Linux distributions can be made to work on Macs with Intel processors, which are based on the same processors as other PCs. The degree of support varies; check your distribution's documentation before attempting an install.

For older, PowerPC-equipped Macs, PPC Linux distributions are available. For more, see 32-bit PowerPC Distributions.
